FlexPro Servo Drive Wins Gold in 2024 LEAP Awards!

Our FM060-100-CM FlexPro servo drive has won the gold medal for motion control innovations in the 2024 LEAP Awards.

Despite its small footprint of 51 x 43 mm, this drive boasts a 100-amp continuous current rating and a 200-amp peak current rating. It's the answer for engineers who need a high-performance drive where space is a limiting factor.

From the judges:

Leap Awards 100 Amp Continuous Flexpro Info Box

"The mini-sized FM060-100-CM FlexPro drive with IMPACT architecture is an all-purpose digital servo drive for centralized or distributed control systems with CANopen communication. Its compact size makes it suitable for any application where space is a limiting factor. Boasting a 100-amp continuous and 200-amp peak current rating, this servo drive is a power-density marvel."

We're grateful to Design World and the judges for this recognition.

A Triumph in Power Density

The FlexPro servo drive series is ADVANCED Motion Controls’ answer to the growing industry demand for compact motion control solutions that don’t compromise on power or performance.

Achieving such high power-density is only possible through meticulous selection of the materials and layouts for the baseplate, boards, pins, connectors, and the electronic components themselves. The power devices and switching technology are carefully designed to optimize power, efficiency, and reliability with minimal thermal losses.

Flexpro Big Group Smaller 2

The first wave of FlexPro drives launched in 2019, featuring a continuous current output rating of 25 amps rms and a peak rating of 50 amps.

Now we’ve released the FM060-100-CM, a FlexPro servo drive boasting a continuous rating of 100 amps rms and a peak rating of 200 amps, quadruple the original values while keeping the drive in a compact form-factor.

What FlexPro Brings to the Table

FlexPro servo drives are ideal for mobile robots, fixed robots, cobots, aerospace, and portable devices where space and weight are critical.

Their compact size allows for distributed installation near motors or even within motor housings, reducing the noise and cost associated with long cable runs.

In battery-powered applications, such as mobile robots, lighter components translate to better efficiency, meaning more time in operation and less time on the charger. The high current ratings enable handling intense torques and moving heavy loads that would previously have required bigger and heavier servo drives.

Just as important as power, performance also isn’t sacrificed with this miniaturization. The FM060-100-CM is a full-featured servo drive with the same capabilities as large panel mount drives. The drive has a 50-microsecond update rate for the current loop and a 100-microsecond rate for the velocity and position loops. Field oriented control delivers smooth commutation as opposed to trapezoidal commutation found in many simpler drives.

A Drive for Engineers

Even the best engineers can’t meet today’s automation challenges without the right components. They need motion control solutions that are up to the task.

The 200-amp peak FM060-100-CM delivers compactness, power, and versatility, ensuring engineers in robotics, automation, aerospace, medical, and other industries can conquer current and future challenges effectively.
