The most common encoder type, these encoders use discrete 0-5V lines for position increments. TTL encoders typically have two channel (A & B) for position information plus an Index channel. Quadrature is used to increase the resolution by 4x.
Benefits
- Tried and true technology that is readily available from many encoder manufacturers
- Standard feedback on most motors
ADVANCED Motion Controls' Capabilities
- The majority of off-the-shelf drives are compatible with Incremental TTL Encoders
