Homing routines provide the servo drive with the absolute position of the motor with respect to the machine, typically involving a sensor or switch located at a known position. Multiple homing routines can be used with the use of limit switches, home switches, and encoder index signals, and by defining the speeds for which a particular homing method is performed. Homing is not necessary in applications using an absolute feedback device.
Benefit
- Highly configurable homing routines allow for homing to be used in a wide variety of system configurations
ADVANCED Motion Controls' Capabilities
- ADVANCED Motion Controls' DigiFlex® Performance™ servo drives allow up to 35 possible homing methods as defined by CiA DSP402
