Jogging is when motion is commanded at a defined constant velocity with infinite distance. Typically performed with a “push-and-hold” type switch, either through software or a physical actuator. Acceleration and deceleration limits are defined based on system requirements.
Advantage
- Jogging is useful in some rotary applications requiring a precise velocity profile where positioning is not required
ADVANCED Motion Controls' Capabilities
- ADVANCED Motion Controls' DigiFlex® Performance™ servo drives allow up to 4 separate jog velocities to be defined within DriveWare® and stored to the drive
